Our Story
After my mom was diagnosed with melanoma in 2019, we searched the market for sun-protective apparel we could trust to protect our largest organ, our skin. After an exhaustive search, we were left feeling more exhausted than empowered.
I remember feeling baffled as to how there wasn't someplace we could shop a carefully curated and pre-vetted selection of sun-protective solutions for the entire family.
We didn't want to be guinea pigs, we wanted to know our dollars went to brands that actually cared for our health over profit.
So, in early 2020, I launched Low Ultraviolet to test the market and see if there was an opportunity for this type of innovation. After five years of community building, research, and growth, Low Ultraviolet transitioned from a UPF 50+ apparel brand to the first and only sun-safe marketplace curated to outshine skin cancer.
